A striking, spacious terminal with a huge range of dining and duty-free to fill a layover.
Contras
The walks between distant gates are genuinely long and can feel endless when you're tired.
Istanbul's newer airport is enormous and clearly built to impress. There's no shortage of ways to pass a connection, from restaurants to shops that seem to stretch forever. My only gripe is the distance you have to cover on foot, so give yourself extra time if your gate is far from the core.
