Pros

Terminal 1 is modern and open, with good food and an easy connection into Barcelona.

Cons

Security can bottleneck in the mornings when the summer crowds descend.

Barcelona's main terminal is a pleasant place to start or end a trip, full of light and reasonably easy to navigate. There's decent Spanish food to be had and the transport links into the city are straightforward. The security queue was the only sore point, dragging during the busy summer rush.
