Pros

Terminal 1 is spacious and modern, and the express train downtown is quick and reliable.

Cons

US-bound preclearance can add a significant chunk of time to your departure.

Toronto Pearson runs smoothly and Terminal 1 in particular feels contemporary and well kept. The train link into downtown made my meeting schedule easy to manage. If you're flying to the States, budget extra time for preclearance, which is convenient on arrival but slow going out.
